Holistic And Real World Advice For Today's Mama

Hi, I’m Sarah. I am a wife and mama living a holistic lifestyle and raising my family on love, organic food, and natural remedies for everyday occurrences. Getting pregnant was no easy task for me. My husband is a two-time cancer survivor (and a warrior!) and his treatments left him unable to have children naturally. Luckily we were able to take the necessary precautions in order to have children later on before he began treatment. I later underwent IVF and two frozen embryo transfers in order to get pregnant with our son. I had a beautiful pregnancy and deeply enjoyed being pregnant. It was the most beautiful and feminine I have ever felt! I had my birth plan all mapped out for a natural birth, and as a HypnoBirthing® Instructor I was prepared to use my training to give birth in a peaceful, natural, and beautiful way. Of course, as life would have, it my birth plan did NOT go the way I had hoped. (You can read my birth story here) Once we were home from the hospital I had grand aspirations of breastfeeding my baby with ease, which also did not go according to plan. (See my post about My Breastfeeding Journey for the full story.) I suffered from the "Baby Blues" the first two weeks after my son was born, super sore nipples, sleepless nights... I've been there. But being Mama to my amazing son is the BEST gift I have ever been given, and I wouldn't change our story for anything. I am learning a lot along the way and am excited to do it all over again with another baby when the time comes.

I am certified as a Holistic Nutrition Counselor, HypnoBirthing® Instructor, Soon-To-Be Breastfeeding Educator, Mother, DIY’er, and lover of all things organic. I created this blog as a means to provide other first time mamas, mamas-to-be, and even veteran mamas with natural solutions for real life experiences, holistic health and wellness tips, nourishing (and easy) recipes, and all things fertility, pregnancy, and baby. I found during my pregnancy that women do not often talk about the reality of giving birth and raising children, and the challenges that can accompany it. I am not here to paint the perfect picture of motherhood (I'll let you in on a little secret - there is no such thing!) My mission is to empower other mamas, and help you to feel that what you may be dealing with is OK and totally normal, and provide you with some real answers and holistic solutions.
